DOWNINGTOWN, PA, UNITED STATES, January 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A Child’s Light announced today that Jacqueline Finnan Hemmer has been elected Board Chair, effective immediately.

A Child’s Light is a Chester County–based nonprofit dedicated to providing access to trauma-informed therapy for children who have experienced abuse or other traumatic events. The organization works in close collaboration with schools, law enforcement, child advocacy centers, and community partners to remove financial barriers to care and ensure children receive timely, compassionate therapeutic support to heal, grow, and thrive.

Hemmer has served on the Board of Directors of A Child’s Light since March 2023 and most recently held the role of Vice President for the past year. She has served in board leadership for the prior two years, bringing continuity, institutional knowledge, and a deep commitment to the organization’s mission. Her election as Board Chair reflects the confidence of the board in her leadership and long-term vision.

“A Child’s Light exists to ensure children are not left waiting for care during the most vulnerable moments of their lives,” said Hemmer. “It is an honor to step into this role and continue advancing a mission rooted in compassion, collaboration, and child-centered healing. Every child deserves access to the support they need to recover and thrive, what we do saves lives.”

Under Hemmer’s leadership, the Board of Directors will continue advancing key strategic priorities, including expanding access to trauma therapy, strengthening financial sustainability, deepening partnerships with law enforcement and community organizations, and increasing board engagement and leadership capacity.

To date, A Child’s Light has supported more than 200 children and adolescents, significantly reduced wait times for therapy access, and strengthened the coordinated community response to childhood trauma throughout Chester County.

In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Hemmer currently serves on air at QVC as Vice President of Healthy Skin Education for Beekman 1802, where she represents the brand’s doctor-developed clean beauty formulations and educates millions of viewers on skin health, barrier repair, and microbiome-friendly care.

Hemmer is also the Founder and CEO of Fitkitty Culture™, a purpose-driven women’s lifestyle and athleisure brand rooted in empowerment, wellness, and philanthropy. She is the founder of Wildroot Collective, a sustainable fashion and community-centered brand focused on intentional design, regeneration, and social impact, with its official launch scheduled for March 2026.

Across her professional and philanthropic work, Hemmer is known for values-led leadership, community advocacy, and a deep commitment to children and families. Her work consistently aligns business, education, and service to create meaningful and lasting impact.
